Ouro Preto was founded over 500 years ago and boasts gold decorated churches from the 18th and 19th century. Another must visit is Christ the Redeemer, in Rio de Janeiro, which can be seen from most places in the city.

You can’t mention Brazil without thinking of carnival. Rio de Janeiro being the most popular hub for this epic celebration. Lasting 4 days, carnival attracts over 2 million visitors per day and half a million tourists over the duration of the carnival. That’s some party!

5.Football

Since the last World Cup in South Africa, hype has been building regarding the next host country Brazil! Being the party and carnival capital of the world, football couldn’t be taking a more centre stage than it already is.
